San Jose Police Employee Arrested for Alleged Possession of Child Pornography.

During our initial investigation, a search warrant was secured for several items which included electronic devices. While conducting a forensic examination of these devices, images and videos of child pornography were discovered. Shevchenko was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on Tuesday, November 3rd for possession of child pornography. The investigation into the current and prior charges is still ongoing.
Statement from Chief of Police Anthony Mata:
“We are continuing our investigation into Denis Shevchenko’s current and prior allegations. Our detectives have worked diligently in reviewing and sorting out all evidence in this case and in the process have discovered child pornography on some of his electronic devices.”

On October 14, 2021, the San José Police Department received information from the FBI San Francisco Threat Assessment Team regarding social media posts that were allegedly made by a civilian employee of the Department. The posts potentially constituted violations of the law and Department policy. Detectives from the San José Police Department’s Internal Affairs Unit Criminal Investigations Division arrested the employee on the same day.
